Free opens it. Pro digs into it. Every format Foretaste can read, it reads for everybody — documents, spreadsheets, archives, media, databases, datasets — and saving to disk is free on every screen. Pro is what you do after the file is open, and it is the same set of features on all three paid plans. They differ only in how you pay.

Opening a file is never part of Pro
No format is behind the plan. If Foretaste can read something, it reads it for everybody, and every screen offers to save the file you are looking at whatever plan you are on. That button works when you have not allowed Foretaste on the site, and when the file turns out to be something Foretaste cannot open at all.
That is a decision in the code rather than a promise here: saving goes through your browser's own download machinery and needs no site access, which is what makes it possible to leave it alone.

How paying works
You pay on the payment provider's own pages. A receipt gives you a licence key, you paste it into Foretaste's Settings once, and Foretaste checks the signature on your machine. There is no account to make and no limit on how many computers you use it on.
A subscription is then checked with us once a day, by its licence number and nothing else — no file name, no address, nothing about what you opened. That check is how a renewal, a cancellation or a refund reaches your copy. If we are unreachable, Pro keeps working: being unable to confirm a licence is not evidence against it.
A lifetime key is never checked again after the first time. Nothing about it can change, so nothing asks.
Cancelling leaves Pro on until the end of the period you already paid for. More about keys.
